Last week saw yet another spectacular Royal wedding, and one that i was truly looking forward to because i've spent a bit of time in Monaco, France. On Saturday 2 July, Prince Albert of Monaco married former South African Olympic swimmer, Charlene Wittstock.
At the reception Prince Albert made an honest and heart-felt speech to his Princess, "It has been a very emotional journey to this day, sometimes not an easy one," he said. "Charelene thank you for putting up with my inconsistencies and idiosyncrasies. You are a wonderful woman. Marrying you is the best decision I've ever taken. I'm happy to share my life with you."
For the Catholic service at the Prince's Palace, Charlene wore an off-the-shoulder Giorgio Armani Prive gown made from 130 metres of silk. With a regal 5 metre train, the gown was adorned with 40,000 swarovski crystals and 20,000 mother of pearl teardrops. Charlene opted for a diamond hair piece as opposed to a royal tiara.
Following an emotional ceremony where Andrea Bocelli serenaded guests, the couple left in a custom-made Lexus hybrid to change for the evening festivities. Princess Charlene then emerged in another Armani creation, a silk chiffon gown with an ethereal four tier train.
The speech alone has made this a winner in my eyes.
